Ahhh...the end of the year. It's the time for winter break for those of you still in school, the time for Christmas, the time for snow, and, as always, the time when everyone looks back upon the year they just finished. And so, Hate Something Beautiful brings to you, the reader, our annual Best of 2005 feature, where we tell you all what we think were the best albums to come out in the past 12 months. Since we are a fairly diverse staff, we knew that we wouldn't be able to come up with one single comprehensive list, so there's a list for each member of the staff who decided to participate. This year, we're also adding a new feature: the Best of 2005 lists from some of our favorite artists. We have artists ranging from The (International) Noise Conspiracy to Xiu Xiu to Johnny Whitney of the Blood Brothers and Neon Blonde; we think you'll love the chance to see what they listened to this year.
